new residential energy tax credits available

Homeowners can now get a lot of tax credits to improve the energy efficiency of their homes. In February 17, 2009, President Obama enacted the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. This legislation has made significant changes and additions to the residential energy tax credit program provided by the federal government. The tax credit can be used for improvements from January 1-20, 2009 to December 31. Taxpayers received a fee credit of 30% on the following items, with a maximum consolidated credit of $2010 and $1,500 in 2009: Window and door energy-saving skylight, storm window, outside windows, storm doors and outside doors are eligible for tax credits. Increasing the amount of insulation in your home will not only save you on heating and cooling, but you will also be eligible for this tax credit. All energy Star Metals and asphalt roofs are eligible for credit. Heating and cooling systems include the purchase of energy-efficient central air-conditioning units, oil stoves, gas stoves/boilers and water heaters. High-efficiency energy-saving gas, oil or propane water heaters with an energy coefficient greater than 82 are qualified. The energy-saving electric heat pump water heater also meets the conditions. Burn biomass fuel to heat the home\'s biomass stove with an energy rating of at least 75%. In addition, the tax credit can be used for improvements as of 2016, and there are no restrictions on the credit for the following items: solar panel photovoltaic systems that provide electricity for household qualifications. Solar panel water heaters-All Energy Star rated solar water heaters will be eligible for credit if at least half of the hot water is supplied to the home. Small wind energy systems with a capacity of less than 100 KW are eligible. All energy star geo-geothermal heat pumps Heat pumps are eligible for tax credits. The IRS has issued rules and regulations that define energy efficiency. So please make sure you check their website and make sure your purchase is in line with the credit. Please also make sure that all of your purchases have a manufacturer certification statement as it must be retained in order to obtain credit.
